Blogapalooza Pictures

Sorry about the long silence, Ravenwolf. (See first comment on previous post.) I've been formatting my party pictures. Click here to see them.

A few random details from the party:

  • Salami pizza is surprisingly tasty. Thanks, Sasha.
  • "Blogatrice" is four Italian syllables, not three French ones: "blogga-TREE-chay" not "blogga-TREECE". Sorry, Sasha.
  • There are more admirers of A. E. Housman's verse around than I would have thought. My next post, coming up shortly, will include a little something for them.
  • John Hiler looks about half as old as you would think from the professionalism and good judgment displayed in his blog. And yes, John, "disgustingly youthful" was a compliment.
  • A very low opinion of Eric Alterman is widespread, though perhaps not quite universal, among bloggers.

I should have more to say about the party, but somehow can't remember it as well as I would like. My general impression is that bloggers are universally intelligent and charming, though I do get some of them mixed up with others. Blogapalooza was certainly well worth the five-and-a-half-hour drive.

By the way, on the picture page, that's the male weevil on the left, the female on the right. Compare and see which is the proverbial "lesser of two weevils".
